Ever since I could remember, I have always enjoyed drawing, painting, photography, and crafting with my young girls as they were growing up. When I was a little girl, I loved to draw and sketch pictures. Some people have kept journals in writing, but I have kept journals in the form of sketchbooks since I was 11 years old.

Ever since I could remember, I have always enjoyed drawing, painting, photography, and crafting with my young girls as they were growing up. When I was a little girl, I loved to draw and sketch pictures. Some people have kept journals in writing, but I have kept journals in the form of sketchbooks since I was 11 years old.
The mediums I enjoy are Drawing, Acrylics, Oil Painting, Photography, and my most recent, Watercolors.
My favorite mediums are oil painting and watercolors. Painting is very peaceful and meditative to me. I always enjoy painting landscapes, but I love trying new subject matter. When I paint I feel grounded, like taking a beautiful hike in nature. I can escape easily by imagining myself virtually being in that landscape.
Photography is my inspiration for painting. When I can photograph beautiful scenery, I think in ways of how to mix my colors to replicate that picture using my learned techniques and painting it onto a beautiful, blank canvas.

What inspires me to draw and paint is seeing scenery that moves me or anything that strikes me emotionally. When our beloved family member "Ella," our Shih Tzu, had to be put down, I was heartbroken but felt inspired to draw her from the strong emotions I was feeling from the sudden loss. What inspires me to draw and paint is seeing scenery that moves me or anything that strikes me emotionally. When our beloved family member "Ella," our Shih Tzu, had to be put down, I was heartbroken but felt inspired to draw her from the strong emotions I was feeling from the sudden loss. I felt it was one of the best depictions of our dog.
I began painting by taking an art class in acrylics when I was 11 years old. Inspired by my art teacher's comments about my work, I moved on to private oil painting classes a year later. Joan Meyers was a local, Corona, CA, oil painting artist, and instructor. She only taught adults, but she made an exception with me and accepted me into her adult painting class at age 12. Unfortunately, I decided to quit during my teenage years. Since then, I've been self-taught.
Until recently, I had an opportunity to take a local watercolor class by another great Artist, Geeta, but had to drop out after the second painting instruction out of six painting classes because my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and I needed to be there for her. Thankfully, my mom is cancer-free now! But I stayed in touch with my instructor via email to finish the class on my own and I was able to accomplish the rest of the painting assignments. From that experience, I fell in love with watercolor painting, but my one true passion for painting is in oils, and I still love photography. I try to stay inspired and continue on.
